YOU SHOWED ME THE LIVING WE DANCED IN THE RAIN YOU BURNED ME WITH PASSION THEN DROVE ME INSANE
NOW YOU DENY ME NO LONGER NEED ME DREAMS OF OUR FUTURE SHATTER AND WOUND ME
MY BODY SURVIVED IT WAKES AND IT WALKS THE SHELL OF MYSELF IT BREATHES AND IT TALKS
YET ... MY HEART AND SOUL WILL HIDE FROM THE PAIN RUN FROM THE SUNS


Lessons LearnedIt’s funny that as I sit here trying to decide on a topic for my writing, I find my mind drifting down the dark path to memories that I have caged and guarded closely so that they don’t escape. Memories that I have worked and labored my whole life to keep submerged in the dank recesses of my subconscious. Memories of lessons learned. A miserably hot day in the middle of the summer I turned six found me hiding in my room while listening to my parents fight. I ventured out after the last crashes had faded with the slamming of the door. I could feel Momma’s torment the moment I walked into the room. Her pain surrounded me like a liviLessons Learned
